Instructions for using the Essex Parish Map
Non-Members:-
- Select the required parish on the dropdown list on the right hand side of the Map.
- A single click on the selected parish name will highlight the parish location on the Map.
- Click on the "Show Parish" box and a thumbnail picture of the churches in the parish will quickly appear.
You need to be a member of the society to proceed further. Clicking on the "Join Us" button below the thumbnail picture of any church will take you to our joining page where you can join instantly. Your membership of the Society will then enable you to access all the features of the map as outlined in the Members section below.
Members:-
- Select the required parish on the dropdown list on the right hand side of the Map.
- A single click on the selected parish name will highlight the parish location on the Map.
- Click on the "Show Parish" box and a thumbnail picture of the churches in the parish will quickly appear.
- Click on the "Show Church Page" or click on the parish area on the Map and a full size picture of the churches in the parish together with details of the number of genealogical records we hold for each church will be shown. Please be patient it will take about 5 seconds for the computer to calculate the number of records in the database for that church and to produce them on screen.
- To return to the Map click on the X in the Tab at the top of the screen.
